Tik tok has been accused of glorifying attacks on women when one of its influencers a video that was later acid to be violent behavior towards the fairer sex.

The short videos platform is the most valued private technology company worth $100 billion and has its headquarters in Beijing, China. The app has received close to 200 million global downloads in April alone.

The app has been getting 1 star ratings on the google play store which has led to its ratings falling from 4.5 stars to 2 in a few days.

The whole controversy began when a YouTube Star by the name Carry Minati roasted the famous Tik Tok star Amir Siddiqui garnering around 70 million views. The video, titled “YouTube vs Tik Tok : The End” was later removed from for violating the terms of service of YouTube.

The diehard fans of both YouTube and Tik Tok have had a rivalry that has been brewing slowly over time. As a retaliation for the removal of the video the super fans of the YouTube star Carry Minati took to Google Play Store leaving 1 star ratings to show just how much they did not like the platform.

The whole controversy had began earlier on where popular Tik Tok influencer by the name Faizal Siddiqui who has 12 million followers on Tik Tok had been accused of promoting violence against women. The influencer happened to be Amir Siddiqui’s brother. He (Faizal) later explained himself by saying that the video was only a month old and had been edited to mislead users.

Tik Tok , in an official communication reiterated by saying they did not allow content that may glorify any cruelty against women , children, animals or people engaging in behaviors detrimental to their health. As a result, the two Tik Tok influencers who are also brothers had their accounts suspended on Tik Tok.

The National Commission of Women has acted swiftly by saying that it will communicate to the government on having Tik Tok completely banned.
