Facebook has quietly launched a dating application called Tune that lets couples chat with each other. This seemed to be a smart move for the company since most people were confined indoors in the wake of the current threat of infection by Covid-19 virus. The app lets its users share messages and music. The dating app has been in development by Facebook’s NPE division which handles experiments done by the company. The aim is to invent new ways that users can interact on social media. They will be using a feedback based system to see which features they test have a liking to users and the ones which do not appeal to users.

One concerning feature about the dating app is that it does not use end to end encryption like Facebook and WhatsApp even though its description in the app store says it’s a private space for couples. Normal Facebook users above 13 years old are able to access this application from the app store.
